CELPIP evaluates test taker's English speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills and is used for permanent residence applications and professional designations. 
The total test time is about 3 hours and is done in one sitting.

Listening Section
Time allotted: 47-55 minutes
-There are 6 parts to this section.
-For each part, an audio clip is played for 1 to 1.5 minutes, only once.

Reading Section
Time allotted: 55-60 minutes
· There are 4 parts to this section.
· 10 minutes are available to read the text and answer questions for each part. Depending on the length of the task number of questions per task can vary from 1 to 10.

Writing Section
Time allotted: 53-60 minutes
· There are two writing tasks each for 150-200 words.

Time allotted: 15-20 minutes
· There are 8 tasks in this section.
· Speaking topics are similar to IELTS speaking topics. The only difference is you are tested for your spoken English by recording your responses while speaking into a microphone.

What is CELPIP?
The CELPIP i.e. Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program is a general English language proficiency test. This test allows the candidate to prove his proficiency in the English language. 
Who accept CELPIP test?
It is approved and accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Other organizations that accept the CELPIP-General Test include Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC) and the Real Estate Council of British Columbia (RECBC). The CELPIP-General LS Test assesses functional Listening and speaking proficiency and is accepted by IRCC as proof of English language proficiency for Canadian citizenship.
Is CELPIP a Computer Based Test?
The CELPIP Test is fully computer delivered, providing test takers the opportunity to complete all test components in one test sitting, with no additional appointments or interviews. CELPIP test takers use a computer mouse and keyboard to complete Reading and Writing components of the test, and a computer microphone and headset to complete the Listening and Speaking components of the test.
Which are the two versions of CELPIP?
CELPIP Test is available in 2 versions: The CELPIP-General Test and The CELPIP-General LS Test.
The CELPIP-General LS Test has two components — Listening and Speaking.
The CELPIP-General Test has four components — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
What is the time duration for CELPIP Speaking test?
Total time allotted for Speaking test is 15-20 minutes.
How long are the CELPIP scores valid?
The test scores are valid for 2 years from the date of the test.
How long does it take to get CELPIP result?
CELPIP Results are available online within 8 business days. For availability of the result within 3 business days, test takers can opt for Express Rating as well.
Can I retake the test? If yes, how soon it could be?
Yes, you can retake the CELPIP test. However, your all test sessions must be at least thirty (30) calendar days apart from each other. If this rule is dishonored, the testing authority will cancel the test registration.
I have heard that speaking part in the CELPIP is easier. Is it true?
It cannot be said that it is easier than the one in the other tests, particularly IELTS, but there are some compelling reasons to believe that because of the technology use that the CELPIP test has adopted. For example, in the physical in-person interview, students tend to become over conscious about their body language and eye contact with the examiner during the speaking in session. They sometimes lose their confidence because they face an examiner while in the CELPIP test, you talk to a machine and you really do not need to worry about these factors at all.
Is CELPIP an alternate To IELTS?
YES , as both options are taken to meet English language skills: taking the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP),and hence both tests are accepted by The Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
What's the intent behind CELPIP evaluation?
The CELPIP test allows candidate to prove his potential to function in English Language. This test evaluates the candidate's ability to communicate with others at work, with friends and in his surroundings.
What is the Minimum Requirement of CELPIP Score for Canada Immigration?
To qualify for a permanent residency in Canada, you need to qualify with a good score as proof of English Language Proficiency. You have to score Minimum of CLB 7 under the category of Canada Express Entry and under the category of Federal Skilled Worker Program are minimum 4.
Below CLB 7, you are not eligible to apply a program of Express Entry under FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER (FSW). The minimum score in CELPIP required is 7 under the category of Canada Express Entry and under the category of Federal Skilled Worker Program is minimum 4.
The total test time for CELPIP-General Test is around 3 hours and The total time for CELPIP-General LS Test is 1 hour-10 minute. The CELPIP is for those test-takers who prefer a computer-based exam and are looking for a less stressful test experience.
Which Edition Is Easy CELPIP-General or CELPIP-General-LS ?
Both, The CELPIP-General and The CELPIP -General-LS are easy to attempt. The CIC i.e Citizen and Immigration Canada accepts these tests, but CELPIP-General-LS is easier and cheaper.
What is the difference between CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS of CELPIP?
CELPIP-General is for those people who need proof of English language skills while applying for a permanent resident status in Canada under the Start-up Visa Program, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and number of Provincial Nominee Programs.
CELPIP-General LS is best for those people who need proof of Speaking and Listening proficiency for Canadian citizenship. The CELPIP-General LS Test is being accepted by IRCC as one of t two designated English language tests for Canadian citizenship
If evaluation is incorrect, can I apply for re-evaluation?
Yes, you can apply for re-evaluation of all or some components of your CELPIP Test within the time period of 6 weeks of the test date. You have to pay a re-evaluation fee at the time of submitting application. Amount of the fee depends on the components of test that you want to re-evaluate.
Re-evaluation requests are final and can't be changed or cancelled, once the request has been submitted. To make a re-evaluation request, you have to sign in to your CELPIP Account.
